Role Overview
As a Cloud Engineer at BATSAMAYI®, you'll be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and managing cutting-edge cloud infrastructure solutions. You'll work with leading African enterprises to architect scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud environments that drive digital transformation across the continent.
This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of cloud computing in Africa, working with diverse clients across industries including finance, telecommunications, healthcare, and government. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to our mission of building world-class technology solutions rooted in African innovation.
We're looking for someone who combines technical excellence with a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges and a commitment to delivering measurable business impact.
Design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda) with focus on high availability and disaster recovery
Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration
Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline to streamline application deployment
Manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient orchestration and scaling
Ensure security best practices across cloud resources including IAM policies, encryption, and compliance standards while monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues
1 or 2 years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch)
Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
Proven experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional)
Multi-cloud experience (Azure/GCP) and serverless architectures
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
